As we age, our mid-face section where our largest ‘fat pads’ are situated drop, which pulls the skin down. This causes the skin in our lower section to develop deep and noticeable lines such as the nasolabial folds, marionettes, perioral lines and jowls. Dermal fillers smooth these areas, softening the lines and replacing the loss of volume. Leaving you looking 10 years younger and your skin rejuvenated and refreshed.
Also known as; nose-to-mouth lines, smile lines or laughter lines.
Your Aesthetics Practitioner will first discuss your requirements and explain the process thoroughly. Upon beginning the treatment we apply an anaesthetic cream to numb the area, ensuring the procedure is comfortable. The filler itself also contains Lidocaine, a numbing agent, to help minimise any discomfort.
The fillers will then be injected through various points and massaged to achieve the look you desire. We only use premium branded, high quality dermal fillers made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a liquid gel-like, water holding molecule that is temporary and also naturally present in our skin.
Nasolabial folds, marionettes, perioral lines and jowls can be corrected through injections of dermal filler into the surrounding area, restoring the lost volume and softening the appearance of these creases. The goal of correcting these areas is to even out the skin volume, leaving you with a smoother, younger looking face.
These are all types of lines that are situated around the mouth and become more prominent with age. These start to appear in your late 30’s or early 40’s, but the age when they become noticeable varies by person.
Nasolabial Folds: Are the lines or deep creases on either side of the mouth, that extend from the edge of the nose to the mouth’s outer corners. These are also know as nose-to-mouth lines, smile lines or laughter lines.
Marionettes: Are the lines that start at the outer corners of the mouth and run vertically down to the outside edges of the chin. These are also know as laughter lines.
Perioral Lines: Are the vertical lines that develop above the lips and around the mouth. These are also known as lip wrinkles or smokers lines.
Majority of our clients find that one session is sufficient, however a small number can require a second session once any swelling has subsided and the filler has settled.
We are only able to work with your natural features, any treatment should be viewed as an improvement and not a cure.
A topical anaesthetic will be applied to numb the treatment area to ensure the procedure is comfortable, you’ll feel a little prick and slight pressure. The filler itself also contains Lidocaine, a numbing agent, to help minimise discomfort.
Post-filler bruising and inflammation are a common side effect, but this subsides after three to seven days. Makeup can be applied to the area 6 hours after the procedure to cover any bruising. If you suffer with cold sores then it is possible that the procedure could trigger an outbreak. In rare occasions infection can occur, however this is greatly reduced if the correct post-treatment and aftercare advice have been adhered to, which you will receive on the day of your treatment.
See ‘How do I prepare for my appointment?’ to view our recommendations in order to minimise side effects.
Fillers are small injections of a liquid, gel-like substance that is ideal for filling in creases and lines, plumping up the lips or cheeks and enhancing facial contours. They are also able to improve the appearance of aging, wrinkling or sagging skin.
The fillers we use are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a popular type of soft-tissue dermal filler. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is naturally present in our skin, it is temporary and is possible to dissolve should there be any problems. It has the ability to hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water and has many functions, including giving the skin elasticity and volume, keeping it smooth, supple and hydrated whilst creating youthful firmer-looking skin.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA), the ingredient that our fillers are made of, is a liquid gel-like substance which is temporary, naturally present in our skin and is a great product for injectables. The beauty of a temporary filler is that if required or necessary it can be dissolved by Hyaluronidase, a compound which breaks down Hyaluronic Acid (HA).
The treated areas will be a little swollen at first, but you’ll see the effects of the treatment immediately, you will need around three to seven days for your face to fully settle.
We accept Visa Debit, Visa Credit and most other forms of card providers.
The fillers we use are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a water holding molecule. For the best results it is beneficial to be well hydrated prior to the treatment.
7 Days Prior: If you are taking any blood thinning medication then ideally these should be stopped several days before the procedure, only with your doctors consent. Thinner blood will make the area more prone to bruising and bleeding.
3 Days Prior: Avoid any aggressive facial treatments, such as AHA peels. These activities increase blood flow to your face, which can only add to the swelling.
2 Days Prior: If you suffer with cold sores, it is possible that the procedure could trigger an outbreak. Therefore it is advised to take antiviral treatments around two days leading up to and after the procedure.
24 Hours Prior: Avoid alcohol before your treatment, alcohol in your system heightens the chance of swelling and bruising.
