Lips are the most popular treatment area for dermal fillers. A lip enhancement can add or restore volume and define the border, this treatment can also reduce the appearance of fine lines around the mouth for a younger look. We use Heart branded techniques to help achieve the look you desire, including our popular Russian Doll Technique and Heart Droplet Technique for our Heart Sculpt Lips, which will establish a prominent cupids bow for a fuller result.
Also known as; lip augmentation, lip fillers or lip injections.
Your Aesthetics Practitioner will first discuss your requirements and explain the process thoroughly. Upon beginning the treatment we apply an anaesthetic cream to numb the area, ensuring the procedure is comfortable. The filler itself also contains Lidocaine, a numbing agent, to help minimise any discomfort.
The fillers will then be injected through various points and massaged to achieve the look you desire. We only use premium branded, high quality dermal fillers made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a liquid gel-like, water holding molecule that is temporary and also naturally present in our skin.
It depends on what you would like to achieve. If this is your first time, then in order to attain a noticeable difference we would advise 1ml. This can look like a large amount initially, but once the swelling has gone down the lips will look plump and full which is usually the aim with this treatment. 0.5ml will give a very subtle result and clients can sometimes feel they require more.
It can take a few sessions to build up to your desired results, we are only able to enhance your natural features and work with what you have. Therefore any treatment should be viewed as an improvement and not a cure.
Heart Aesthetics understand the heART of facial aesthetics, we have developed a number of popular techniques, such as;
Heart Droplet Technique: For our Heart Sculpt Lips we use our Heart Droplet technique to define the border and cupids bow of your lips for a sexier and fuller result.
Russian Doll Technique: This technique gives maximum lift and a flatter appearance to the lips.
Younger clientele with thinner lips, tend to prefer extra volume or to equalise the ratio of the top and bottom lip. Our mature patients prefer a natural, youthful look with attention paid to the border of the lips that fade with age. You do not need to know exactly what you’re looking for prior to your treatment. The different techniques and the outcome you desire can all be discussed with your Aesthetic Practitioner on the day of your appointment. Just as no two faces are alike, no two lip shapes are either. We will advise specifics based on your requirements and facial structure for a truly beautiful outcome.
A topical anaesthetic will be applied to numb the treatment area to ensure the procedure is comfortable, you’ll feel a little prick and slight pressure. The filler itself also contains Lidocaine, a numbing agent, to help minimise discomfort.
Post-filler bruising and inflammation are a common side effect, but this subsides after three to seven days. Makeup can be applied to the area 6 hours after the procedure to cover any bruising. If you suffer with cold sores then it is possible that the procedure could trigger an outbreak. In rare occasions infection can occur, however this is greatly reduced if the correct post-treatment and aftercare advice have been adhered to, which you will receive on the day of your treatment.
See ‘How do I prepare for my appointment?’ to view our recommendations in order to minimise side effects.
Fillers are small injections of a liquid, gel-like substance that is ideal for filling in creases and lines, plumping up the lips or cheeks and enhancing facial contours. They are also able to improve the appearance of aging, wrinkling or sagging skin.
The fillers we use are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a popular type of soft-tissue dermal filler. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is naturally present in our skin, it is temporary and is possible to dissolve should there be any problems. It has the ability to hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water and has many functions, including giving the skin elasticity and volume, keeping it smooth, supple and hydrated whilst creating youthful firmer-looking skin.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA), the ingredient that our fillers are made of, is a liquid gel-like substance which is temporary, naturally present in our skin and is a great product for injectables. The beauty of a temporary filler is that if required or necessary it can be dissolved by Hyaluronidase, a compound which breaks down Hyaluronic Acid (HA).
Your lips will be a little swollen at first, but you’ll see the effects of the treatment immediately. You will need a further three to seven days for your lips to fully settle.
We accept Visa Debit, Visa Credit and most other forms of card providers.
The fillers we use are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a water holding molecule. For the best results it is beneficial to be well hydrated prior to the treatment.
7 Days Prior: If you are taking any blood thinning medication then ideally these should be stopped several days before the procedure, only with your doctors consent. Thinner blood will make the area more prone to bruising and bleeding.
3 Days Prior: Avoid any aggressive facial treatments, such as AHA peels. These activities increase blood flow to your face, which can only add to the swelling.
2 Days Prior: If you suffer with cold sores, it is possible that the procedure could trigger an outbreak. Therefore it is advised to take antiviral treatments around two days leading up to and after the procedure.
24 Hours Prior: Avoid alcohol before your treatment, alcohol in your system heightens the chance of swelling and bruising.
